24 hours with no spew. Heat wave over.

Here is Z, sleeping peacefully, in his freshly laundered Swaddle Me, after a full day of not Linda Blairing out on us!  What a relief.  The key seems to be knowing when he's full and just wants the pacifier.  What was I ever thinking to believe babies don't need pacifiers?

The heat is supposed to break today, and between that news and no projectile spitup, things may be less hellish all around here today.  I love living in the Valley, because it's convenient to everything, there's parking, and it's just less hectic than over the hills in LA.  But on days like we had this weekend, I remember that we actually live in a desert that is naturally inhospitable to human life.

We had a little spew later today. Kind of a geyserette, around 11 a.m. It was sort of midway between normal spitup and The Exorcist. The real trick is spotting when Zack is full, and it's not easy.

Yesterday I was being so careful that I kept pulling him away from nursing every so often, and he would just wail about that. It was like, "What the HELL is wrong with you people? I SAID I'm HUNGRY!!!" But now I'm letting him go a little longer, because I can read his signals a tiny bit better.

But yesterday was tough!

Just gotta roll with it, honey. Um, and lets remember that the kid is only 13 days old, seriously - you're doing great!

Amen on the pacifier, sister! We took Vivi to a movie the other day and I had FIVE pacifiers in my purse. I don't care if she rolls it in crack....just don't lose it. -- Ashley G
