Zack does not bite this book like his other books. He loves Brown Bear. He smiles whenever we start to read it.
He will hold it like this and stare at it for a long time.
He touches the pictures reverently. He sometimes gets excited when you turn the page and he sees each new picture. I think he is so much like Jeff when he does this.
I lucked out. I took this picture by holding the camera away from me while Zack was in my lap.Seriously, he likes books, but it's only this book that he treats this way. He has an actual literary preference. Of all the many things I love and adore about Zack, this one is so utterly charming that it flips my wig like nothing else.

Eric Carle also wrote and drew The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which was one of my childhood books from way back. We got a copy, but Zack didn't treat it any differently from the other non-Brown-Bear books. That is, he grabbed it and tried to eat it. I have to admit his opinion swayed me; Brown Bear is the better book.

We love Brown Bear!! It has been a favorite with both Jake and Mags. I remember loving Hungry Caterpillar too, but neither of my kids has been as into that book. Funny. Can't wait to SEE YOU GUYS!!!
What a smart little guy! That is one of the best books ever. I wonder if he dreams about it at night. I can't believe how grown up he looks. Such a handsome little dude.
I've never seen a child this young so smitten with a book. He reaches for it, waits patiently for it to be read to him, and then...loves to see each page again. How cool is that!!!
I'm so happy that Zack is with you all for Christmas. I can't wait to see pics of the whole clan.
