Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
This doesn't really have anything to do with Thanksgiving, except that the moms of these two kids were downstairs making pies. Here's what Zack is reading (The first line I didn't catch; the movie starts on the second page):
A little boy planted a carrot seed (missed)
His mother said, "I'm afraid it won't come up."
His father said, "I'm afraid it won't come up."
And his big brother said, "It won't come up."
Every day the little boy pulled up the weeds around the seed and sprinkled the ground with water.
But nothing came up.
And nothing came up.
Everyone kept saying it wouldn't come up.
But he still pulled up the weeds around it every day and sprinkled the ground with water.
And then, one day,
a carrot came up
just as the little boy had known it would.

YAY! That is SO awesome! Jake and I enjoyed watching it very much.
Happy Thanksgiving you guys, love ya bunches!
This book kind of infuriates me, because what is wrong with the whole family? You plant a carrot seed and a carrot will grow. Why are they so discouraging about this? It makes no sense. It's supposed to be a book about faith but it seems more like a book about living with crazy people who don't understand how nature or science work and just say stupid stuff all the time.
Just watched this again on H-thon. I especially love "Big brudder." Also how he stretches out the suspense before turning the page when the carrot comes up, "and theeeeennnn..."
oh man is that a cute guy!
